Exhibition 2011
Digressing, lateral thinking, the searching for new paths and perspectives – these are the first steps in overcoming the natural barriers of individual thought patterns. Our Frei Raum invites visitors to explore the astonishing and irritating twists and turns of human consciousness. Those who wish to know what they see must first know what they do not see.

Change
The new, the other, and, if all goes well, the better – these are the results of changes. Various kinds of change processes are part of the daily work routine of Schloss Hohenkammer visitors. Initiated and endowed by Munich Re, the exhibition in the Frei Raum embraced this topic in a surprising way. It is the ear, rather than the eye, that is addressed this time. Mounted on the walls are 16 CD-players, each providing a different interpretation of ‘change’. Simply pull on a cord and listen.

Cooperative Thinking
The deepening and expanding of knowledge and the networking of skills is of fundamental, visionary and decisive significance to a leading international risk carrier like Munich Re. This mindset is reflected strongly in our related activities. The current exhibition in the Frei Raum deals with this idea in that it examines the question of how ‘cooperative thinking’ functions. What are typical forms of this and what are the advantages and disadvantages of the various formation groups? Examples begin with cooperative thinking in teams
and span to the much cited ‘think tanks’.
A wealth of surprising insights awaits exhibition visitors.

An invitation to a castle tour
What would be a better thing to do on the opening of this exhibition space than to explore Schloss Hohenkammer and see what it holds? The question is all the more fitting since this opening exhibition takes place just after the long and elaborate restoration of Schloss Hohenkammer has been completed. The exhibition opens the visitor’s eyes to the new, old atmosphere that surrounds him and sets out with him in search of the genius loci.
On view is an elegant black and white photo reportage of this interior; however, it is not a architecture tour but rather a brief documentation that focuses on the history, anecdotes and backdrops surrounding the castle, as well as the amenities and comforts awaiting visitors. A special kind of ‘castle tour’.
