Self-sufficiency with renewable energy

Value creation chains, which are established and operated in a sustainable manner, create a unique advantage that is only rarely mentioned: Autarchy, meaning independence from outside energy suppliers. Gut Eichethof represents an excellent example of this kind of sustainable independence.

The three-field system of agriculture practiced on Gut Eichethof, as well as its own forest, yields even more energy than needed by this ecologically sound operation. Each of the fallow agricultural croplands provides ample grass from which electricity and heat can be generated in our ultra-modern biogas plant.

A current capacity of 250 kW is pumped into the power supply. Together with the capacity of the block heat power station (800 kW), the heat supplies the estate and the entire castle complex with the energy they need. The heating and power station is fired with woodchips from the estate’s forests.
